Update on FROG Rally Registration

Now that we've published the new FROG website (hope you like it!), we're putting the finishing touches on testing the registration payment system for the FROG International Rally.  We'll be sending out an e-mail blast to alert everyone to the opening of registration. This year we'll have about 800 sites available, up by about 100 from last year. In the meantime, here's some preliminary information that you might find useful for your planning. 

Cost of the FROG Rally is:

  • $475 for two adults in an RV
  • $350 for one adult in an RV
  • $125 for each additional person age 12 or over
  • No charge for each additional person under age 12

The fees listed above include six nights of camping; ten meals (four dinners, six breakfasts) for each person; vendors; seminars; factory tours; entertainment; factory service (within reason); and more.

There are nine optional tours available at additional charge. A very brief synopsis of each of the tours and the cost of each are shown below. Costs include bus transportation; all admissions; and meals where indicated.

  1. Stitchin' Fun
    Monday August 15
    11:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    $55 per person

    Join a group of women for an Amish quilting bee. Includes traditional Amish Haystack Lunch; quilting and sewing with the ladies, tour of some of the quilt gardens and murals along the Heritage Trail; visit to Elkhart County Historical Museum for behind the scenes tour and Quilt Show 'N' Tell, with some quilts pre-dating Lincoln's Presidency.
  2. Brown Bag Tour of Amish Country
    Tuesday, August 16
    8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
    $70 per person

    This has been our most popular tour every year. Visit select locally owned shops along Amish Country backroads tour, receiving a gift at each stop. Observe and learn about the lifestyle of the "Plain People." Learn about Amish history, traditions, and customs from your local guide. Feast on a traditional Amish Wedding Dinner at an Amish farmstead, learn about Amish wedding dresses and the Amish wedding song. Visit other local businesses such as a casket maker and a buggy shop. This tour is identical to Tour #6 below.
  3. Blue Gate Theater and Restaurant
    Tuesday, August 16
    11:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    $60 per person

    Attend the matinee “Home Game”.  For as long as he can remember, Levi Troyer has loved playing baseball. He daydreams about playing in the major leagues, but with his father's expectations that he remain on the farm, he manages to keep most of his dreaming in check. All of that changes when a sports talent scout happens into town one day and catches sight of Levi's amazing fast ball. Impressed with both his pitching and batting skills, the talent scout offers Levi a deal he can't refuse. With the decision fully Levi's, how will he choose between his father's wishes of an Amish life and his own deepest dreams? What will it cost him?   4. Boat, Bison & Bar-B-Q
    Tuesday, August 16
    3:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
    $45 per person

    One of last year's most popular events. Take a hay wagon ride with your expert guide to handfeed the great American Bison. Learn about raising, feeding, and managing this wild animal. Following your tour, enjoy a chuck wagon bar-b-q at the ranch dining hall. After dinner share a leisurely one-hour evening cruise aboard the SS Lilypad on Lake Wawasee, the largest natural lake contained within Indiana, with soft drinks and snacks served on board.
  5. Chrome, Homes, and Golden Dome
    Wednesday, August 17
    8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
    $70 per person

    Get an insider look at one of the most historic and tradition-laden venues in sports at the University of Notre Dame. Learn about the Campus Crossroads project and see the amazing transformation underway at Notre Dame Stadium. Learn the history of the Joyce Center and the teams that call it home. Tour the Notre Dame locker room and touch its "Play Like a Champion Today" sign before stepping onto the field. NOTE: Due to construction and football practice schedules, it might be necessary to substitute a campus tour for the stadium tour. Enjoy lunch at Tippecanoe Place, the 40-room, 4-story Studebaker mansion dating to the 19th century. Tour the Studebaker National Museum with 70 timeless vehicles, including President Lincoln's carriage, the 1956 Packard Predictor concept car, military vehicles. Visit the Northern Indiana Museum of History in the Oliver Mansion, home to the inventor of the Oliver plow. Finish with a stop at the South Bend Chocolate Factory if time permits.
  6. Brown Bag Tour of Amish Country

  7. "Eat Dessert First" Prime Rib Dinner Cruise
    Thursday, August 18
    1:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
    $55 per person

    Visit Coppes Commons in Nappanee, originally the factory for Coppes Kitchen Cabinets, producer of Hoosier Cabinets. The renovated factory now houses a variety of shops offering hand crafted and freshly baked items. Start with dessert at Rocket Science Ice Cream, where your desert will be mixed before your eyes using premium ice cream mix, real fruit, nuts, candies, and sauces, then flash frozen with liquid nitrogen. From there enjoy a prime rib dinner cruise aboard the SS Lilypad on Lake Wawasee, the largest natural lake contained within Indiana's borders.
  8. RV Hall of Fame, Das Essenhaus Dinner, Classic Car Show
    Thursday, August 18
    1:45 p.m. ot 8:30 p.m.
    $45 per person

    Located in the RV Capital of the Country, the RV Hall of Fame offers an 80,000 square foot showcase of everything from a 1913 travel trailer to state of the art motor homes. See unique camping cars, house trailers, and house cars, including one built for Hollywood screen star Mae West. Enjoy a family-style dinner at Das Dutchman Essenhaus, one of Elkhart County's premier Amish restaurants with its beautiful quilt displays, then stroll the manicured grounds for an incredible show of hundreds classic cars (weather permitting), take in the many gift shops, or enjoy a ride in an Amish buggy or a round of miniature golf. (Extra charge for buggy ride or miniature golf.)
  9. Quirky Collections
    Friday, August 19
    11:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
    $40 per person

    Visit two amazing private collections in Elkhart. First stop is to meet Dave and Denise Sanders, collectors with a passion for their collection of 300+ pedal cars. Look for the ones you had or wished you had as a kid. You won't find this collection on the map -- it's by invitation only. Lunch at Heinnies has been an Elkhart tradition for over 56 years and through three generations. They're known for great steaks and prime rib, but their Heinnie Cheeseburger was recently added to the list of top cheeseburger stops in the United States by auther and film writer George Motz. Enjoy a cheeseburger, hamburger, chicken breast or pork tenderloin with sides, drink and dessert. From there, meet Dick Lavanture and see his extensive military collection, including weapons and vehicles.

Tours that include dinners are scheduled on the two evenings that we don't have dinner scheduled at the fairgrounds so that you won't miss out on a scheduled dinner. Brown Bag Tours are also scheduled on days when there is no dinner scheduled, because after the Amish Wedding Dinner you won't need to eat again!

We'll start scheduling factory tours after registration begins and we have an idea of how each brand will be represented at the FROG Rally. Factory tours are included in your rally fee, and you'll be able to sign up for them in Goshen. Bus transportation is included.
